The Szczecin Philharmonic invites everyone to another concert in the Soundlab series. This time the audience will hear The Cinematic Orchestra live, star of the legendary label Ninja Tune.
The soundtrack to a documentary film depicting flamingos, a musical hit which ended up in the TV series ‘Grey's Anatomy’, as well as a composition illustrating the 1929 Soviet silent film ‘A man with a camera’ – such varied musical repertoire The Cinematic Orchestra is proud to present.
The band was set up in 1999 and is a main representative of nu-jazz. It perfectly combines an ambient atmosphere with a jazz feeling, at the same time reminiscent of the echoes of music in old films. Since the beginning of their career, Gilles Peterson – host of BBC Radio 1 – has been a great advocate of the Cinematic Orchestra’s artistic output. The band gives concerts all around the world in clubs, theatres and philharmonias, as well as prestigious festivals: Montreux, Cannes and the Spanish Sonar.
Project "SOUNDLAB – filharmoniczne laboratorium muzyki elektronicznej w Szczecinie – druga edycja" ["SOUNDLAB – philharmonic laboratory of electronic music in Szczecin – second edition"] has been co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
The Media Patron of the SOUNDLAB series is AMS.
