Energetic klezmer music enriched with Balkan rhythms performed by an irrepressible band, Klezmafour accompanied by the Symphonic Orchestra is a guarantee of great fun and a huge dose of positive energy.
Klezmafour is a band with members coming from Lublin, Białystok and Warszawa. The klezmer traditions of these regions are the inspiration for the band, who approach them in a totally innovative way with punk rock energy and Balkan madness.
The band is the laureate of two awards at the extremely prestigious International Jewish Music Festival 2010 in Amsterdam. They have already performed at the National Philharmonics in Germany, USA and Canada, where they gave concerts to audiences of thousands, alongside such celebrities as Balkan Beat Box. The atmosphere at their concerts resemble those known from rock or hip-hop concerts, at the same time being well-received in the concert halls.
According to the organizers of Internationales Klezmer Festival Fürth (Germany), where the tickets for the band's show had been sold out within just a few days: “Klezmafour is something much more than a breeze of freshness in klezmer music, it's a real hurricane!”
The idea of combining the Klezmafour energy with the unique sound of a symphony orchestra appeared after their 2014 concert, when the audience in the full-house of the Philharmonic was spontaneously applauding the band's performance.
At the fantastic new premises of the Philharmonic in Szczecin, the first performance of compositions by Klezmafour with the Symphony Orchestra of the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic took place in January 2015 in Szczecin, and were arranged by Nikola Kołodziejczyk . A record entitled “Klezmafour Orkiestronicznie” (Klezmafour Orchestrated) is the effect of this cooperation. The album had its premiere on 13th February 2016.
Songs from this very album will be performed during the show, which is to be conducted by the composer of the original arrangements, Nikola Kołodziejczyk.
