At fifteen he ran away from home to the Bieszczady mountains. Yet he did not get into bad company – on his way appeared Wolna Grupa Bukowina (a renowned Polish sung poetry band). Thus this musical autodidact – Michał Lorenc himself – began the career of one of the most prominent composers for Polish and foreign films.
Awarded at numerous international festivals, nominated by 20th Century Fox for Oscar for his compositions for the film "Blood and Wine" by Bob Rafelson. In total, he wrote music to nearly 200 films and documentaries, TV series and theatrical performances.
Szczecin music lovers will hear the most famous pieces of Lorenc performed by DesOrient. The ensemble was founded in 1998 – then they performed the music for the film by Janusz Majewski "Złoto dezerterów". In their performance, the band willingly reaches to ethnic roots: Balkan, Klezmer, Arabic, Persian and Latin music.
