Polish Jazz Legends

We invite you to another premiere edition of the Espressivo series. This time, the stage will feature two living legends of Polish jazz – vibraphonist Bernard Maseli and composer Grzegorz Nagórski, along with our local representatives, the Szczecin Philharmonic Big Band.

Bernard Maseli is one of the most recognised artists on the Polish jazz scene. His name is closely associated with projects such as Walk Away, Young Power, and The Globetrotters. Maseli has also been active in notable duos with artists like Zbigniew Jakubek, Ireneusz Głyk, and Krzysztof Ścierański.

Grzegorz Nagórski is a trombonist, euphonist, and composer. He has been a member of groups such as Charlie Persip and Superband, Inter/Outer Continental Jazz Quintet, and Jazz Big Band Graz. He has collaborated with renowned artists like Ray Charles, Bob Brookmeyer, and Billy Harper.

Alongside these distinguished guests, the stage will also host representatives from Szczecin and the Philharmonic itself – the Szczecin Philharmonic Big Band. Initiated by Igor Puszkara, the group has been active since 2017. The band consists of Philharmonic musicians, lecturers, and students from music academies. The big band embraces challenges, engaging in diverse projects ranging from film music to new interpretations of standards and even Christmas carols.
