Mosaik is a Polish band that performs world music using ethnic and historical instruments. They uniquely blend traditional Polish music with Oriental influences and Mediterranean folklore. They are winners of competitions such as the Polish Radio Folk Festival New Tradition and Mikołajki Folkowe. They have participated in significant world music festivals in Poland and abroad (including the Cross-Culture Festival, Ethnoport, London International Arts Festival, Globaltica, Musicport, Colour Meeting, and Delhi International Arts Festival).
Mosaik has recorded five albums: Ludovava (CM Records 2010), …a my do Betlejem (Polish Radio 2010), Całe szczęście (Verge Sound 2013), WOLNO! (Verge Sound 2016), ŻAR (CM Records 2024). Their tracks have also appeared on compilations, including The Rough Guide to Undiscovered World (World Music Network 2012) and Tribute to Moskwa (HRPP 2013).
The ensemble's latest album, ŻAR, consists entirely of songs about love. The inspiration for these came from archaic songs from Krupiowska Green. The album features arrangements of songs from the repertoire of the outstanding Kurpie singer Waleria Żarnoch, as well as original compositions inspired by her songs. The album was recorded at the Polish Radio Studio S4 with the ensemble's original lineup.
