Record-breaking season at the Philharmonic in Szczecin

During the 2015/2016 artistic season, the Philharmonic in Szczecin noted nearly 180 000 visits, thanks to both faithful music lovers, who regularly attended symphonic concerts, and those who were discovering within the spaces of our white edifice the sounds of jazz, traditional songs, experimental and improvised music, or met at exhibition openings every month on the 4th Floor.

During the past year, EduFilharmonia took charge of carefree play combined with creative musical activities. The 2015/2016 season saw another edition of the action “By limo to the Philharmonic", which enabled various groups: children, seniors and children from orphanages from the whole West-Pomeranian region, to come and take part in cultural events at the institution.

The Philharmonic opened its glass doors to visitors – citizens and tourists from all around the world had a chance to sightsee around the interiors of the most beautiful building in Europe, winner of the Mies van der Rohe prize in modern architecture.

On the whole, during the last artistic season, 462 events took place at the Philharmonic – 46 events per month on average, including the summer break.

In December last year, the Philharmonic in Szczecin received an award in the competition “Nocne Marki – Polish Nightlife Awards” 2015. The editorial team of the lifestyle magazine Aktivist! nominated the Philharmonic “for its entirety, as places such as this break the stereotype of a boring institution (...)”.
